Like many modern love stories, theirs began with a swipe to the right. Rosie, living in Roopville, Georgia, and Patrick, in Boaz, Alabama, matched on Hinge despite being two hours apart. After a week of texting, Patrick called Rosie one Friday night while she was driving to the beach. What was supposed to be a quick call turned into four and a half hours. By the time she reached the coast, they both knew it was worth meeting in person.
Their first date was October 1, 2022. Patrick offered to drive to Carrollton, but Rosie made the trip to Boaz instead. When she arrived, Patrick was feeding cows—and the first time she saw him in person, he pulled up… on a tractor. Yes, a tractor.
The day included picking up cows at the sale barn, a tour of Boaz, and dinner at Mike’s Steakhouse. For Rosie, it was definitely a change of pace. Who knew first dates could be so agricultural?
After that, the two-hour drive didn’t seem so long. Rosie spent nearly every weekend in Boaz that October. Four weeks later, on October 29th, while driving down the road, Patrick looked over and said, “What do you say we make this official?” No grand speech—just pure Patrick.
Nearly three years later, on August 29, 2025, during a family beach trip, Patrick planned a private sunset proposal. With only the waves and a pink sky around them, he got down on one knee. Rosie may have known it would happen eventually—but she didn’t think he had the ring just yet. Patrick, of course, had it handled.
Together, they balance each other in the best way. Patrick is steady, hardworking, and deeply committed to his faith and family. Rosie is passionate, thoughtful, and keeps Patrick laughing with her quick wit and quirky sense of humor. She may be strong and independent, but she loves that with Patrick she doesn’t always have to be. He appreciates her wisdom, determination, and the way she cares deeply for the people she loves.
They challenge each other, support one another, and somehow manage to make two hours feel like nothing. Now, they’re counting down the days until that distance is officially behind them. More than anything, they’re looking forward to building a home, sharing everyday life, and continuing their story—side by side.
